Creating content for social media requires a unique skill set that combines the ability to create high quality imagery and videos, along side being able to tackle the brief from the social media lens. These skills are built on the foundation of core photography and social media marketing knowledge.

Cabbages and Roses

Cabbages and Roses are an established, quintessentially English fashion brand. I worked with the Cabbages team to capture one of their photo shoots and their delightful boutique on video with the aim to transform this content into reels for social media. Looking at their brand’s voice and aesthetic, paired with research into what content was performing well within their niche allowed me to create purposeful material.

This reel posted on the Cabbages and Roses Instagram account including my footage performed well at a 119% increase views compared to reels posted at a similar time (reels 5 posts a side and taking an average views of 7,580).

Wimbledon Sustainable Fashion Week

I joined the media team for WSFW 2023 to create content for their social use. This included interviewing models and designers, videos of the behind the scenes of the catwalks and generally trying to capture the positive essence of the event.

This video above was one of my favourites as it showed the super personality of the models, again, leaning into that more ‘social’ side of the content for the event.

Get Pickled

Get Pickled is a regular digital marketing client of mine with one of the tasks I often work on being content creation. After filming her recipes in her set up I then edit them, adding in her voice over and any relevant text on screen.

Out of all reels posted in the past year by Get Pickled , the top 6 performing in views, and 8 out of the top 10, were created by OAKEY media.

  • Bristol Flyers Women

    Powerful and vibrant sports graphics, posting stories and reels in real time during games, interviewing players and editing the footage... all unique elements of the Bristol Flyers Women's social media.

  • Daines Atelier

    Daines Atelier creates brilliant and unique garments sold in stockists and online. From capturing BTS content to using already existing eCommerce images, I transform this media into content specifically for their social audience as part of running their Instagram account.

  • Soulcap

    Fashion illustration of a swim cap commissioned by Soulcap as part of their AD X Soulcap collaboration.

  • Studio Zipcode

    Repeatable textile desig pattern for Bournmouth based brand sustainable clothing brand Studio Zipcode. This design was printed onto organic cotton jersey for a collaboration between SZC and myself.

Belles and Babes

With Belles and Babes I have had the opportunity to lend my hand to a wide range of digital design tasks, included but not limited to:

  • Logo design. Designing a new logo with the refreshed colour palette and drawing inspiration from elements of the old design.

  • Small illustrations for the website. As the logo was redesigned the website was overhauled. As part of this, I created some small and simple illustrations to slot around the copy to boost the clarity of certain important facts and ‘how tos’.

  • Social media graphics. Creating a range of graphics suitable for Instagram, Facebook, Youtube and Linkedin.

Email Marketing

  • Belles and Babes

    Tasks include:

    Re-branded and updated copy on all automated emails.

    Create engaging emails focusing in on a range of fashion topics. For example, style edits, new arrivals, ‘Spring swaps’ and competitions.

    Using hyper links, buttons, CTAs and other methods to increase the rates readers click over to the desired web page.

    Using the brand’s tone of voice to communicate with readers, and pulling information from customer surveys to drop in relatable topics we know they are likely to find engaging.

  • Get Pickled

    Tasks include:

    Turning the clients pre-written copy into colourful, personal and professional storytelling email newsletters.

    Including reformatting, spell and grammar checking copy and adding in relevant links to the newsletters.

    Following client’s branding guidelines throughout, making sure to keep in their personal touches as well as optimising the copy for email marketing.
