Creative Photo Shoot With Matthew ‘Fluid Blues‘ :The Full Gallery

It was a joy to round off a jam packed 2024 with a photo shoot with long term collaborator and talented photographer Matthew Evas. After Matthew had sent me over a reel that caught his eye, I was all in to dive into a shoot where we take on a similar concept ourselves.

With Matthew taking on the clever set up in the studio I was in my element with fashion styling and makeup. I chose to wear a bodysuit I had brought over the summer from sustainable brand Not Basics (previously called Pantee) which has been a bit of a staple for me recently. With this, a pair of earrings I received as a present that would act as an accessory that would just catch the overhead light differently.

We experimented between poses, adjustments of wind to shutter speed. From a modelling perspective is was a new challenge to dance with the moving fabric as aposed to looking like it was drowning me out. Putting my arms into triangles (eg hands on hips) and creating shapes into the wind helped me control the fabric to create good composition. I also quickly realised that where I was facing made a huge difference with the primary overhead light. As a fan of the ‘stare directly into your soul’ face, I realised I had to mostly tilt my head upwards more to really catch the light in the best way.

Furthermore, as we used a lovely continuous light we captured some video which you can see here on my Instagram. It was a great element to add in, one which really gave the photo shoot life to capture the fabric and I moving about.
